South African airline FlySafair and pilots affiliated with the trade union Solidarity are continuing wage negotiations today under the mediation of the Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration (CCMA).
The industrial action, now in its sixth day, has forced the airline to cut operations by at least 30%. Since the strike began, several flights have been cancelled, leaving many passengers stranded and causing widespread travel disruptions. Thami Ngubeni spoke to SABC Economics reporter, Katlego Legodi.
