Eswatini has commenced the construction of its first privately financed hydroelectric power plant. A project developed by South Africa's renewable energy firms African Clean Energy Developments (ACED), and Energy Infrastructure Management Services (EIMS Africa), is expected to power approximately 11,000 homes in Eswatini.
The first power from the plant is expected by the end of 2026. Thami Ngubeni spoke to Michael Wickins, Chief Commercial Officer at EIMS Africa.
