Environmental Groups Green Connection and Natural Justice are appearing before the Western Cape High Court in South Africa, in a case against TotalEnergies and the South African government over offshore oil and gas exploration along the country's southern coastline. The two organisations say the government's decision-making process in granting the environmental authorisation was flawed, rushed, and failed to uphold constitutional and environmental obligations.
