The United States has officially imposed a 30-per-cent import tariff on South African goods, a move that could cost the country thousands of jobs and threaten key export sectors. The tariffs, announced by US President Donald Trump, came into effect on the 1st of August and effectively erase the benefits of the African Growth and Opportunity Act.
