Different sectors in Africa are gearing up for the G2O summit expected to be held later this year in South Africa (SA) for the first time on African soil. In Agriculture farmers are expecting that the summit will bring about solutions to their challenges and improve the economic outlook of the continent.

 Earlier this week stakeholders in the agricultural sector converged in SA's capital Pretoria, for the national dialogue in preparation for the G20's Meeting of Agricultural Chief Scientists known as MACS -G20 that will be held in in May.

Sisi Segalo took time outside of the dialogue to speak to some farmers about their expectations.

Farmers hope G20 summit will address challenges, boost Africa's economic outlook

The Zimbabwean government has issued a directive for vendors to vacate the streets of Harare. However, vendors in Harare's central business district (CBD) are still operating, defying a government directive. 

The Zimbabwe Chamber of Informal Economy Associations (ZCIEA) says removing traders off the streets without addressing Zimbabwe's economic collapse is a recipe for disaster and that this move will create unnecessary panic, instability and vulnerability.

There is a mixed outlook from economists, with some saying that rates will remain unchanged, while others believe there is still room for a 25-basis-point cut. The MPC aims to maintain consumer price inflation between 3% and 6%.
