Just over two weeks after Peter Mutharika was sworn in as Malawi's president, his government has dissolved all boards of parastatal organisations and state-owned enterprises.
Days after the dissolution of the boards governing State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs), the Department of Statutory Corporations issued an immediate blanket suspension of all recruitment and major procurements across all parastatal organisations and SOEs saying the move is aimed at preventing irregularities during the governance vacuum.
