Global markets are reportedly on pause, with traders hesitant to take large positions as a deadline set by US President Donald Trump looms. The South African rand traded weaker in early deals earlier today, as investors remained on edge ahead of the deadline for Iran to reopen the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz. The uncertainty has kept markets cautious and reluctant to take big positions until greater clarity emerges on the geopolitical outlook.
