There are mounting calls for Kenya’s Energy and Petroleum Cabinet Secretary, Opiyo Wandayi, to step down amid a fuel scandal involving the importation of two petroleum consignments totalling 128 000 tonnes outside the Government‑to‑Government framework. In an earlier statement, Wandayi sought to clarify the situation, confirming that the petrol consignment was imported outside the approved framework.
