Over 1,000 people, from a broad coalition of community-based organisations, civil society organisations, trade unions, and environmental and social justice groups impacted by extractive projects, gathered in Sandton, Johannesburg South Africa to protest against the African Energy Chamber and the African Energy Week conference.
They are demanding the immediate cancellation of African Energy Week and for African governments to boycott the event and cut ties with its host, the African Energy Chamber amongst others.
This is while to conference continues in Cape Town.
