South Africa's (SA) Deputy Minister of Forestry, Fisheries, and the Environment, Bernice Swarts, opened the 2nd African Forum on Urban Forests in Johannesburg, SA as part of the International Day of Forests. The conference, themed "Green Horizons: Shaping the Future Resilience of African Cities through Urban Forests," serves as a pivotal platform for dialogue on urban greening in Africa.
The conference is bringing together global leaders, and environmental experts among others across the continent to highlight the crucial role of urban forests in fostering resilient, sustainable, and inclusive cities across the continent.
