In California, March 31 is no longer officially known as Cesar Chavez Day - state lawmakers voted to rename the holiday Farmworkers Day, a change signed into law by Governor Gavin Newsom. This comes after a New York Times investigation reported accusations that Cesar Chavez sexually abused women and girls during his leadership of the United Farm Workers in the 1960s and 1970s.
