NEW YEAR, NEW PAY: California Boosts Minimum Wage

View descriptionShare

California’s minimum wage will rise to $16.90 per hour on January 1, 2026, up from $16.50. The increase follows state law requiring annual adjustments based on inflation. The change also raises the salary threshold for exempt employees, while many cities will continue enforcing even higher local wage rates.
