Karen Read was found not guilty of second-degree murder and manslaughter in the death of her boyfriend, Boston police officer John O’Keefe, during her 2025 retrial. The case stemmed from a 2022 incident in which prosecutors alleged she struck O’Keefe with her SUV and left him in the snow during a blizzard. The defense argued she was framed and that O’Keefe was attacked elsewhere. The jury’s verdict followed a previous mistrial in 2024. This case has captured the attention of the nation.  Why?
