A magnitude 3.8 earthquake struck near San Leandro in Alameda County at 8:30 a.m. Thursday, shaking much of the East Bay. The quake was initially reported as a 4.1 before being downgraded. Several aftershocks followed, BART briefly slowed trains, and no damage or injuries were immediately reported.
