California’s High-Speed Rail project is facing renewed scrutiny after a CBS investigation by Julie Watts reported missed train procurement deadlines, a $9.5 billion funding gap, and warnings the project could run short of money by 2027. During a Fresno visit, CEO Ian Choudri defended the project and highlighted contractors will start laying tracks in November or December of this year.
