CNN will host the first scheduled general-election debate between California gubernatorial candidates Xavier Becerra and Steve Hilton on Sept. 30, moderated by Jake Tapper and Dana Bash. After months of criticism that he was avoiding head-to-head debates, Becerra has now agreed to the CNN forum as voting approaches and ballots are set to be mailed in early October.
