A viral claim that a 5‑year‑old Minnesota boy was “arrested by ICE” was widely shared online, but federal officials say the story was false and misleading. According to the Department of Homeland Security, the child was never the target of the enforcement action; agents detained his father during an immigration operation, and the boy was taken into custody only because he was with him. School officials alleged ICE used the child as “bait,” but DHS strongly rejected that account, calling it a misrepresentation of events.
