Tulare County Sheriff’s Office deputies were serving a final eviction notice at a home in Porterville, when authorities say the resident opened fire on deputies almost immediately, triggering an extended and violent standoff. Tulare County Sheriff Deputy Randy Hoppert, 35, was killed responding to the scene. He leaves behind a wife who is four months pregnant.
