BREAKING NEWS: A Fresno County judge has ruled that the teenage girl accused of being the getaway driver in the Caleb Quick murder will not be tried as an adult and will instead remain in the juvenile justice system. The 17-year-old is accused of driving the shooter—her boyfriend—away after Quick was shot and killed outside a Clovis McDonald’s in April 2025. Prosecutors argued the seriousness of the crime justified adult charges, but the judge determined they did not prove she couldn’t be rehabilitated as a minor. As a result, if convicted, she would face a much shorter sentence with an emphasis on rehabilitation, rather than the much harsher penalties possible in adult court.
