ASSEMBLYMAN DAVID TANGIPA: "Opportunities are Being Stolen from Female Athletes"

KMJ Host & Attorney John Gerardi joins Broeske & Musson to discuss this morning's BREAKING NEWS out the Supreme Court. In a 6–3 ruling, the Supreme Court struck down Louisiana’s congressional map that created a second majority‑Black district, ruling the map was an unconstitutional racial gerrymander. The justices said Louisiana went too far in using race when redrawing districts to comply with Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act. The Court held that the VRA did not require Louisiana to create that district, so race could not justify it under the Constitution.

Organizers of California's Billionaires Tax say they have collected more than 1.5 million signatures, far above the threshold needed to qualify for the November ballot. Meanwhile, a rival ballot initiative would significantly limit or undermine the tax if both pass. The initiative is primarily funded by Google co‑founder Sergey Brin, through a group called Building a Better California. Brin has contributed at least $57 million toward the effort so far.

The suspect in the White House Correspondents' Dinner shooting wrote a more than 1,000 word document he described as an explanation and justification for his actions. He explicitly stated an intent to target the president and administration officials. The manifesto is explicitly anti‑Trump, repeatedly accusing President Donald Trump of criminal acts (using terms such as “pedophile,” “rapist,” and “traitor”) — language used repeatedly by Democratic politicians. When asked about their rhetoric, Democratic politicians say it's not them... it's President Trump that's the problem.
