John Broeske and Guest host, Reedley City Manager, Nicole Zieba react to Newsom rejected AB 1383 because he believes expanding pension benefits could risk repeating California's past pension-funding problems. The bill would have lowered retirement ages for police and firefighters from 57 to 55 and allowed richer pension formulas, but Newsom concluded the financial risks outweighed the benefits despite overwhelming legislative support.
