Did you know that a single gold discovery in 1867 literally saved the entire colony of Queensland from total financial collapse?

Join us as we dive into one of the most incredible rescue stories in Australian history! We’re taking a step back in time to where it all began: Nash’s Gully in Gympie.

We are joined live by Rick Hose—Marketing and Media Coordinator for the festival and Breakfast Presenter at Radio 4GY—to unpack the legacy of prospector James Nash, whose massive gold strike sparked an economic boom and built the foundation of the Gympie region. Plus, Rick gives us the ultimate insider's preview of the returning Gympie Gold Rush Festival, bringing historical re-enactments, grand parades, and family celebrations to life across Gympie, Noosa, the Mary Valley, and the Cooloola Coast!
