The Alice Springs Turf Club has just announced Nicole Simpson as their 2026 Face of the Ladbrokes Alice Springs Cup Carnival Ambassador. Both Nicole and board member Nicole Walsh came on the Brekky Show to talk about the role and the great events this weekend - Saturday 2 May sees the Alice Springs Toyota Pioneer Sprint and a Community event with a Family Fun Day incorporating activities for the children including Fashions on the Field. First race is 1.11pm and FREE ENTRY. Monday 4 May is Ladbrokes Alice Springs Cup with General Entry $40

Chloe from Huaxuan Cultural Heritage Association, Derek from Lion Heart Association, Apajok Biar Manager at MCSCA (with special helpers) and Ola Rzeszowska Community Projects and Events Officer at Alice Springs Town Council came in for a chat on 8CCC Brekky Show about the Lunar New Year Pop Up event. Due to the weather, this year it's at Braitling Primary School from 5pm-8pm. Join in the free fun activities - Fan Calligraphy, Lantern-Making, Photo Booth, Ring & Win Stall, Huaxuan Cultural Heritage and Lion Heart Association Stall, along with a full evening of entertainment. Traditional Chinese instruments performances, Tai Chi and various lion dances and stories will be highlights.
