Local musician and poet Emma Trenorden visited 8CCC Brekky to invite everyone along, as well as chatting about NT Book Award she won in Non Fiction, for HIGH FIRE DANGER and the NT Writers Centre Poetry Award for her poem Guria in Me, which she read an excerpt on the show. The track Guria, which means earthquake in kuanua, was produced from the poem, about her maternal grandfather. John Vuia was a proud Tolai man who lived his whole life on the volcanic island of Rabaul, East New Britain, Papua New Guinea.
Her partner Liam Campbell joined us later, to announce their new song Ceasefire, written in response to the deaths of Kumanjayi Walker and Kumanjayi White. Liam and Emma collaborated with Warlpiri Elder Ned Jampijinpa Hargraves and Music Producer Andy Sorenson, releasing it under the name Apochromatix, a project band from Mparntwe Alice Springs, featuring them both as well as other musicians.
