Later Brett shares voter statistics from the primary election earlier this year, less than one percent of registered republicans voted for Lt. Governor and North Carolina Auditor. Brett claims that the low voter turnout stems from the average citizen not knowing or caring about these offices. He goes so far as to admit prior to moving to talk radio he himself didn't know what many of these offices were responsible for.

Breaking Brett Jensen kicks the show off by talking about the shift in voter demographics across North Carolina with a swing of 282,000 registered voters from Democrat to Republican. This doesn't necessarily mean that all of them switched their registration from democrat to republican but that the total number voters the democratic party lost and the republican party gained sine 2020 equals 282,000. 

Later in the show Brett discusses tonight's Charlotte City Council meeting to vote on the proposed budget and more tax hikes. If passed, there will be a total of four separate tax increases in the last 12 months.

Brett wraps the show up by discussing the 40% dip in money wagered on sports betting apps in North Carolina. In April there was $105 million wagered in North Carolina, that number dipped to $63 million in May. Brett believes that these numbers will go back up and likely exceed the previous high when football season rolls around in September.

6-10-24: Dems Loose Voters In NC

Breaking Brett Jensen kicks the show off by talking with North Carolina State Senator, Brad Overcash, about the Raise the Age bill, whether or not Governor Cooper will veto the bill and how the bill will impact Carolinians.

At this time criminals will exploit the law by having 16 and 17 year-olds commit serious crimes on their behalf because they know that these kids will receive lighter sentences. This bill is intended to cut down on these instances and hopefully incentivize these young people to think twice before they commit these serious felonies.

Later in the show Brett is joined by Scott Hamilton from the WBT Newsroom to discuss seeing a B-17 bomber at the York County airport for the 80th anniversary of D-Day.

Breaking Brett Jensen kicks the show off by talking about the Panthers Stadium renovations and addresses some of the most common questions he has heard regarding the $650 million coming from the City of Charlotte. First of all, the project will in no way raise your taxes, the money is coming from the tourism tax fund which is made up of taxes acquired from hotels, rental cars, etc. 

Later in the show Brett shares the story of a young woman in Florida who tracked down her stolen luggage. After landing in Florida the young woman went to retrieve her luggage but it never showed up, airport employees told her to give it time and they would locate it and return it to her. Her plan quickly changed when the apple watch in her bag began sending her its location in Fort Lauderdale.
