Tune in here to this Wednesday edition of Breaking With Brett Jensen!
Breaking Brett Jensen kicks off the show by talking about CMPD's new Civilian Crash Investigation Unit (CCI) established to solely focus on minor crashes that take up over 28,000 man-hours per year. The intent of this new unit is to cut down on the wait time for civilians following a crash, and to save the already overworked police officers thousands of hours a year. Ideally, this unit will also cut down on officer response time when crimes are committed in order to better serve the people of Mecklenburg.
Later, Brett shares a story out of Raleigh today with the North Carolina House's veto override of Senate Bill 382 concerning disaster relief funds for Western North Carolina following hurricane Helene and now makes the state Board of Elections even in members, as opposed to one party having an advantage. Brett also gives some insight on how parties, especially democrats, are pressured into voting certain ways by higher ups because the party threatens to "primary" them by supporting another democratic candidate in the next primary if they don't toe the party line.
