Tune in here to this Wednesday edition of Breaking With Brett Jensen!
Breaking Brett Jensen discusses issues surrounding the North Carolina Board of Education’s investigation into Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. Jensen notes that the state investigation could be perceived as lacking impartiality. He explains that this is due to potential conflicts of interest involving State Superintendent Maurice “Mo” Green and State Board Chair Eric Davis, both of whom previously held positions either with CMS or the CMS school board.
Later, Jensen discusses another potential of conflict of interest involving the CMS investigation. He explains a situation involving CMS acting Superintendent Melissa Balknight’s sister, which research appears to show works for the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction as the Chief Academics Officer. Jensen uses this example to further argue why the investigation should be conducted by an independent third party.
