Local firefighter Steve Oschner recounts his experience fighting forest fires in rural Canada, including how they would camp out for 5 days at a time. He describes the dirty and dangerous work of creating fire breaks to stop the spread of flames. Despite the backbreaking labor and smoke, swarms of insects proved the biggest nuisance.
