Hour 1

Boomer & Gio are out so today it's Jerry and Willie Colon. We start with preseason football as the Giants beat the Lions in a boring misty rain game that did not feel exciting at all. Drew Lock and Malik Nabers were not on the same page last night as he had no targets. Willie explained why that happened. Tommy DeVito played after Lock went down with an injury. There’s a thought the Giants will only keep 2 quarterbacks this season and they’re already paying Lock $5 million so what will that mean for DeVito? Another team will be able to take him before the Giants put him on the practice squad. Aaron Rodgers didn’t practice yesterday because it was raining. Willie was out at practice and gave us his thoughts. He was impressed with Jayden Daniels as the Commanders practiced with the Jets. Peter Schwartz is in for his first update of the day and starts with USA basketball having to come back from 17 down to beat Serbia. Willie tells a story of having his tailbone bent after getting blindsided while on the Steelers. The Mets had no problem with the Rockies as Pete Alonso homered twice. The Giants beat the Lions in the rain, 14-7. Rob Saleh is leaving the door open for Rodgers to play in the final preseason game. In the final segment of the hour, we talked about Jerry Jones’ comments about not feeling a sense of urgency to get a deal done with CeeDee Lamb. 

Hour 2

We talked about Team USA basketball as they came back from 17 down to beat Serbia. Jerry was very impressed with how much defense they play compared to regular NBA games. They will play France for the gold medal and France does have a number of NBA players the way Serbia does. Jerry has been on a high protein diet and has not been going to the bathroom as often as he feels he should. The Knicks had a ceremony at the Garden for naming Jalen Brunson a captain. Peter returns for an update and starts with the sounds of Team USA basketball coming back to beat Serbia. The Yankees lost the game and the series to the Angels. Aaron Boone gave an update on the foot of Anthony Volpe. The Mets beat the Rockies and take the series thanks to 2 home runs by Pete Alonso. The Giants beat the Lions in preseason game 1. Aaron Rodgers didn’t practice yesterday because it was raining. Willie wants him to play against the Commanders. In the final segment of the hour, there’s a 69 year old man who’s having his first child and Jerry can’t imagine that. We also talked about Willie wanting to be more intimidating than his kids. 

Hour 3

Pete Alonso had a great game yesterday as the Mets beat the Rockies and took the series. Pete hit 2 home runs, one early and one late. The Mets now travel to Seattle for the weekend, including a Sunday night game. The Yankees lost their series to the Angels and the Yankees have a lot of question marks with their pitching. This weekend Craig Carton is calling the Yankees games with Suzyn Waldman and we talked about our expectations. Peter returns for an update and starts with Team USA Basketball coming back and beating Serbia in the Olympics. Charles Barkley was on with Dan Patrick to talk about why he’s not retiring and staying with TNT. Peter has all the sound from the Yankees loss to the Angels in the misty rain. The Giants beat the Lions in preseason football, although none of the starters played. In the final segment of the hour, Jerry has some non-sports  news stories involving a new McDonald’s burger and astronauts being stuck in space. 

Hour 4

Willie Colon gives us his takeaways from last night’s Giants win over the Lions. He thought it was ‘very vanilla’ without the starters playing. Willie also wants Aaron Rodgers to play against the Commanders tomorrow. In the second segment, Craig Carton joined us to talk about this weekend’s Yankees games that he’s doing on the radio with Suzyn Waldman.
