Boomer & Gio Podcast (WHOLE SHOW)

Hour 1

The Baltimore Orioles absolutely spanked the Yankees yesterday and seem to have their number this season. Gio wonders if they’re the new Red Sox, Rays or Astros, meaning the team that will stand in the way of the Yankees winning it all. Gio called it a ‘wake up call’ spot and not a ‘panic’ spot. Boomer said if the Yankees don’t win it all this year, they should not sign Juan Soto because he was supposed to be the difference maker. Then the Mets can sign Soto instead. Boomer said there is now a blueprint to beat the Yankees. C-Lo is in for Jerry and is here for his first update of the day and he starts with the Orioles beating the Yankees 17-5. The Yanks are only 2-5 against the Orioles this season. Gleyber Torres left with a groin injury, which still confuses Al. ‘Where is the groin? Do women have groins?’ In the final segment of the hour, Gio tells the story of a run in with a homeless man with a stocking over his face and intern Anthony from upstairs. A caller wonders why Boomer is so fired up this morning.

Hour 2

Boomer watched JJ McCarthy throw out a first pitch from a Twins game and it did not look good. Boomer thinks that’s a bad sign for Gio and the Vikings fans. He also ‘skipped’ off the mound after throwing it. He looked ‘dainty’ on the mound. Gio went to a driving range yesterday and thought he was on a hidden camera show because this beautiful woman in a mini skirt was at the range and had no idea what she was doing. C-Lo returns for an update and has the Orioles radio calls as they beat the Yankees 17-5. Boomer talked about the Yankees eventually shutting down Luis Gil. We also talked about Evan Roberts trying to dress more like an adult. Chris Russo had a hard time pronouncing Condoleezza Rice. He also chimed in on Bill Belichick dating a 24 year old. Boomer wonders if this hurts Belichick’s chances at getting a head coaching job next year. In the final segment of the hour, Gio said he may need a break from going to restaurants. Al tweeted a few weeks ago that he was done with him, and Gio might be done with them as well. They talked about going to restaurants with little kids and how kids only have a short time span where they don’t start going crazy in the place.

Hour 3

The Lakers are hiring JJ Redick as their new head coach. Gio can’t understand how these guys get hired with zero head coaching experience. Boomer said, ‘this is destined for failure, you would think’. A woman calls and asks if Gio shaves his own back or if his wife does it. Gio does it himself with a ‘mangroomer’. C-Lo returns for an update but first Boomer wonders if he’s going to do the bike tour in exchange for golf clubs. C-Lo starts with the Cardinals/Giants games as a tribute to the negro leagues. Reggie Jackson was interviewed during the game and talked about his experience in baseball in regards to race. In the final segment of the hour, the ‘Nuttin Butt Azz’ basketball tournament scheduled for a Newark high school has been canceled.

Hour 4

We are not going to get any juicy stuff from Hard Knocks Off Season with the NY Giants. They get final say on what gets out there. Brian Daboll looks like he lost 80 pounds and looks great. C-Mac is worried that sometimes when big coaches lose weight they lose their mojo. Boomer said coaches put on weight because of stress. We also talked more about laser hair removal and shaving your back. C-Lo returns for his final update of the day and Boomer wonders why Al keeps putting up back hair calls. A caller said he waxes his wife. Matthew Stafford’s wife, Kelly, once dated his backup QB at Georgia to make him jealous. The Moment of The Day involved Chris Russo having a hard time pronouncing Condoleezza Rice. In the final segment of the week, we talked about Justin Timberlake getting a DWI. Boomer said he met him a few times on the golf course.
