Hour 1

Jerry and Joe Benigno are in for Boomer and Gio today. Joe catches Jerry up on his golf game before they discuss a disappointing split for the Mets against the Nationals. Joe has no real expectations for the Mets. He just wants them to give him “a season” and get him to football. Joe thinks Pete Alonso having a down year increases his chances of staying with the Mets after the season. Peter Schwartz is here for his first update of the day and begins with the Yankees, who were swept by the Reds. They’ll still make the playoffs but nobody saw this swoon coming. Jerry thinks Aaron Judge seemed annoyed and was biting his tongue after the game yesterday. Jesse Winker did it to the Mets again. The Mets are in Pittsburgh tonight and Joe remembers two awful trips he took to the city for Jets playoff losses. The Joey Chestnut-less Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest crowned a new champion but the guys are all disgusted by the competition. In the final segment of the hour, Jerry asks Joe about some of the viral moments from his podcast. Joe watched “61” last night which prompts Jerry to ask him what is different about pitching now compared to back then.

Hour 2

Jerry and Joe discuss changes to college basketball and college football, with Rutgers having two top prospects in next year’s NBA Draft who the Nets will have their eyes on. Trent Grisham’s lazy play capped a bad day in an ugly sweep for the Yankees. They look like a mess right now but Jerry and Joe expect most players to turn things back around. Peter returns for an update but first the guys discuss driving into the city. The Yankees lost again to the Reds. Will Juan Soto re-sign with the Yankees? In the final segment of the hour, the guys wonder what the Mets will do at the deadline. Joe wants the Mets to sign Luis Severino long-term. Joe will be furious if the Mets trade Severino or JD Martinez.

Hour 3

We are only 18 days away from training camp. Joe says he always expects the worst with the Jets. He wants to win the division this year and Jerry says, on paper, they should. Peter returns for an update but first he and Joe debate which team has had worse playoff losses, the Knicks or the Jets. The Yankees and Mets both lost. The Mets will face Pirates phenom Paul Skenes tonight. Does Joe know who Livvy Dunne is? Joe explains why the Dodgers are the baseball team he hates the most. Joe calls out MLB for being biased against the New York teams. In the final segment of the hour, Jerry and Joe discuss the lack of big-name golfers on the PGA Tour and Jerry answers a question about his expectations for Rutgers basketball this upcoming season.

Hour 4

Jerry and Joe share WFAN memories before discussing how big of a weekend this is for both the Mets and the Yankees. The Mets need to avoid a three-game losing streak and convince the front office to buy while the Yankees need to right the ship. Joe thinks David Stearns wants to trade away most Mets veterans but Jerry is more optimistic about Stearns and Cohen getting the Mets on the right track. Peter returns for an update but first, Peter shares a story of running into Joe at a Jets game. The Mets dropped their second straight in D.C. to split the series. They face Paul Skenes and the Pirates tonight. Last hour, Peter showed Joe who Olivia Dunne is during a break. The Moment of The Day involves Peter’s audio mishaps. In the final segment of the show, Jerry and Joe talk about a Jet star getting into golf and weekend plans.
