Associate Professor Ghena Krayem provides deep insights into her latest book, Understanding Sharia Processes – Women’s Experience of Family Disputes, explaining the difference between a religious and a civil law divorce and why an Islamic woman might want both, the different types of religious divorce, and the process for obtaining a religious divorce, considering recent improvements to make the process more female-friendly and suggesting further reforms. Fascinating.
