It’s a good time of year to rewatch the movie ‘Friday Night Lights’ with Billy Bob Thornton. We have officially hit football playoff season and the stakes couldn’t be much higher- in fact, one of the viral stories over the weekend was out of north Texas after Amarillo High was forced to vacate 6 wins for use of an ineligible player. They ended up in a 3 way tie decided by a coin flip at a Valero parking lot and they ended up winning it. Congrats and good luck to them… back home, no coins needed to be flipped. Both schools had their spots secured… starting on Thursday, it all begins with Champion taking on Southwest at Dragon Stadium at 7. Then on Friday, Boerne High will host Corpus Christi Ray at 7. And good news- we will carry both games here on Boerne Radio! The first round game between Comfort vs Tidehaven will be played Thursday at 7 in Seguin. 

Onto the NFL - The Cowboys didn’t play this weekend- they had their bye week. The Texans defeated fellow AFC South opponent Jacksonville Jaguars, 36-29. Houston is now 4-5. 

The Spurs got 2 home wins over the weekend - Friday over Houston, 121-110. Then against New Orleans, 126-119. Tonight, they go to the Windy City to play the Bulls at 7.
