Boost Boerne Business - Von Erich Ranch 

It’s Friday January 16th. 

 

It was on this date in 1919 that the 18th Amendment was ratified, officially beginning prohibition. This didn’t officially ban alcohol, just the sale and manufacturing of it. Many people ignored the ban drinking at speakeasies or secretly in their homes…which was kinda whiskey… :) The amendment was officially repealed in 1933 by the 21st Amendment.

The Ministry of Dance on Main Street in Boerne had an incredible week after returning from the United Country Western Dance Council World Championships as Global Champions! After competing against elite talent from over 20 countries, a stellar group of 4 cinched 7 titles. Dawn Volesky was named a 4 time world champ, Payslee Schultz was crowned twice, Adria Corrine was named a world champ and took home a silver medal, and Kay Ravizza took 3rd place and had several top 5 finishes.  Congratulations Ministry of Dance…and do you know why this dance studio is called Ministry of Dance?  The building they are in used to be the First Baptist Church in Boerne.

 

The City of Boerne is now using Everbridge as the mass notification system used to deliver urgent and routine alerts to you. These messages can be received via email, text or phone call, and will allow updates on severe weather, road closures, missing persons and more. The Cibolo Farmer’s Market is back open for business starting tomorrow! It will be there first market of 2026 hosted at the beautiful Herff Farm from 9 to 1. And bundle up - while it’ll be sunny we could kiss the freezing mark tomorrow and Sunday morning.

The Navy-Silver series took place these past couple of days for Champion baseball. Navy ended up winning 4-3 the final score in the last game. Today and tomorrow, the school will host official tryouts.
