Boerne High coming off a hard-fought year in baseball has another player going to play at the next level- Eli Srp announced his commitment to Blinn College a few days ago. Congrats to Srp and Blinn will be getting a good right-hander for the mound. 

And speaking of baseball, a three-gamer separates Champion from the regional final. The must get past La Joya Palmview. Game 1 will be Thursday at 7 from Sinton, and we will have coverage here on Boerne Radio starting at 6:45. 

Alright, game 5 for the Spurs is tonight and it’s a biggie. Start time will be at 7 on NBC and Peacock.

Boost Boerne Business -National Wildlife Turkey Federation

It’s Friday May 29th. 

 

It was on this date in 1917 that the 35th President of the United States, John F. Kennedy, was born.  And some more powerful people in Boerne celebrating a birthday today include Patrick Cohoon with Leger, Ketchum and Cohoon - and talk about power couple with Judge Kirsten Cohoon…newly married and new power couple and formerly Miss San Antonio Emma Faye Rudkin with Aid The Silent, and one more…happy birthday Dawn Adamek over at Boerne ISD in the Fine Arts Department…and the other half of power couple with Coach Chris.

Congratulations to Letty Moncada for retiring after 22 years as a dispatcher at the Boerne Police Department. Her calm voice, professionalism and compassion will be missed by the force and citizens alike. Deputy G. Cardenas also just celebrated 5 years with the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office. He is a proud member of the Honor Guard, and ensures the safety and security of the courthouse every day. 

 

Bandera Electric Cooperative has been named one of the San Antonio Business Journal’s 2026 Best Places to Work.

BEC was recognized in the large employer category, with the final rankings to be announced at an awards ceremony in July.

The honor is based on employee feedback about workplace culture, training, retention, and innovation.

CEO Bill Hetherington says BEC’s nearly 150 employees are “the soul of the cooperative,” united by service to members and communities across the Texas Hill Country.

After storms knocked out the power at the New Braunfels Utilities wastewater facility, more than 550,000 gallons of untreated wastewater flooded into the Guadalupe River. A utility lift station lost power between 1 and 4 in the morning on Wednesday, meaning wastewater could not be transported, eventually flooding the system. Cleanup began shortly after the flooding stopped, which included dirt removal and disinfecting areas where the overflow occurred. No residential areas needed to be disinfected, and the spill should have no effect on the drinking water. 

 

The Kendall County Commissioner's Court heard about a safety improvement project for the dangerous stretch on Highway 46 at their most recent meeting. The 6 year project would include adding turn lanes at seven intersections, a 4-foot centerline buffer and a barrier at Webster’s Curve. One of the more pressing matters is preventing crashes due to speeding and difficult turns- to deal with it in the meantime, TxDOT plans to install rumble strips along the centerline, adding warning signs and improving pavement markings. The short-term project is expected to finish in two years, while the final schematic design is projected to take up to six years, and funding has already been secured.
