Charger Water Polo continues their journey to state today- the boys will play Johnson at 2, and the girls at 3:30 against Alamo Heights. On the line are the area championships. 

Both tennis teams will be looking to do the same as the water polo teams as they also battle for area championships. The Chargers will take on rival MacArthur today at 9am, and the Greyhounds against Highlands at 11. 

Tonight for Geneva football is a big game for the seniors as it’s senior night- a celebration of the guys who have carried the team as the big men on campus. They play New Braunfels Christian at 7pm. The Eagles are 4-2 and 1-1 in district at the current moment.

Boerne Birthday Shout Out Time…Happy Birthday to Carol Schultz - former first lady of Boerne, founding member of Boerne Performing Arts and real estate queen with Hill Country Home and Land… also a super nice lady…and also Media Journalist Queen Dayna Cartwright celebrates on this day along with Joni Mitchell she’s 82, and Johnny Rivers turns 83, and also born on this date in 1918 the late great Billy Graham.

Big announcement yesterday, the restaurant known as Peggy’s on the Green that was established in 2016,  shared the sad news on social media that they will conclude operations at the Kendall Inn on November 30th. The new management for the Kendall have decided to transition the food and beverage services in-house. Chef Mark Bohanan and his team thanked the community, guests, suppliers and staff and hope to continue sharing their cuisine in the future.  If you have a gift card to Peggy’s it will still be honored.  Make your reservation quickly,

 

With that news of stuff closing, and with all the talk of Buc-ees opening, and the new Boerne Town Center with the coming Sprouts, Nothing Bundt Cakes, and Chipotle…the permit has been filed and approved for a new Tractor Supply Company in Bergheim!  It’ll be on 46 and Rodalyn Drive across from Meadow Springs Estates.  It’s a $2.3 Million build out and is projected to open up in late May of 2026.

 

The City of Boerne’s Planning and Parks & Recreation Departments just received top honors from the American Planning Association. For the second year in a row, the planning department earned the Planning Excellence Recognition — one of only 49 cities in Texas to receive it.  Parks and Rec also brought home the Achievement in Urban Design Award for their Urban Corridor Design and Enhancement Guide, recognized for blending Boerne’s historic charm with modern design in a collaborative and innovative way.

Week 11- the final week of the regular season for high school football and we’ll carry it tonight here on the station. As always, make sure you tune in at 5 for ‘Fired Up Friday’, and hopefully you get pumped up for the Greyhounds and Antlers going to battle in the district. A classic rivalry with Boerne looking to sweep the board in the district. We go live at 6:30 with the pregame. 

By the way, Greyhound fans, we have to talk about next week. I mentioned the Greyhounds running the board in district and going undefeated, well their record right now assures they will host the first round playoff game no matter what. Boerne ISD Athletics released ticket information for next week and it’s important- if you are a season ticket holder, you should receive a renewal code to purchase the seats you currently have and you have until November 12, that’s Wednesday, to purchase them. If not, they will be available to the general public the next day. But if you can’t score a ticket to the game, Boerne Radio has you covered! Well the playoff games for both teams as long as they survive, so make sure you stick with us for playoff football coverage! 

Swim season also begins as did the other winter sports this past week- Geneva already has a meet tomorrow! They’ll be in the Battle For the Crown at the Davis Natatorium. In fact they’ll be be in Converse next Saturday the 15th in the Judson Meet Triple Dual.

The Spurs- well they’ll be home tonight as they take on Houston at 7. It’s the first NBA Cup tournament group game for San Antonio, and the Spurs look to redeem themselves from back to back losses.

The official switch over from Texas Heritage Bank to Liberty Capital Bank begins this Friday at 4pm -and will be completed by 9am on Monday.  Over the weekend will be huge upgrades to their online experience and mobile banking while the bank is closed, but ATMs will remain available.  Ribbon cutting to come…you can bank on that.
