8 more sleeps… just 8 more sleeps and the nightmare of no football becomes the dream of football. We have another scrimmage tonight, this one in Boerne. The Chargers will host the Churchill Chargers as they look to “corral” them. I’ll take a guess and say the Chargers are going to win this one. JV and freshmen will start at 5, and the varsity at 6:30. Tomorrow night, the Eagles announced they will be hosting a little Friday night scrimmage against Brentwood. The start time tomorrow is at 6.

As for the Greyhounds tennis team, in the rescheduled match against Tivy yesterday, they dominated the courts 17-2. They are now 5-1 overall and 2-0 in district. JV is headed to Kerrville to face Tivy today, and varsity goes right back to work tomorrow as they face O’Connor at home.

While the Spurs are currently dealing with Mayor Ortiz-Jones and the controversy over Project Marvel, a former player has bid his farewell to the game. Marco Belinelli - and before I say anything else, if the name sounds familiar, it's because he was on the 2014 championship team, where he averaged over 11 points. He also played with New Orleans, Golden State, Charlotte, and Chicago, among others. He last played for Virtus Bologna for the past 5 years in the EuroLeague.
