63. That is the new magic number for Greyhound football after shutting out Kennedy 63-0. It was the first game back for Jaxon Baize since his injury at Flour Bluff- he didn’t play the entirety but he was looking stellar helping get the team a 3-0 district record. The team is now 7-1 overall and hasn’t lost a game since Flour Bluff. Kerry Barboza of the Boerne Star providing the stats for the game says “it was probably 1,000 yards to 10.” Brooks Perez was the Jon Wayne Service Company Player of the game with 3 catches, 100+ yards and two touchdowns in the 1st quarter.

The Chargers play tonight at home against Smithson Valley in a district heater. 5A Region 3 District 12 is tight with Smithson Valley sitting on their throne in 1st place, but the Chargers have a chance to knock them off their pedestal. Tune in at 5 for ‘Fired Up Friday’ and then coverage of the game starting at 6:30. 

Both schools will have their tennis teams on the courts today battling it out for regional championships. Greyhounds defeated Devine yesterday 10-2 to advance, and the Chargers beat Flour Bluff 10-7, respectively. 

The Texas showdown between the Astros and Rangers for the AL Pennant continues - Houston ties the series at 2 games a piece last night 10-3, with game 5 today from Arlington. The pitching matchup will be Montgomery vs. Verlander.
