While there is a very important election this week, there’s another that deserves more attention- I’m talking about the Jon Wayne Player of the Week!- Brogan Dempsey is your candidate for Boerne Champion, and Hank Hendrix is for the Greyhounds. It’s so easy to vote… no heading to the polls, but do head online to POTG.JonWayne.com, use your email address, and vote for these deserving gentlemen once every hour until tomorrow at 2pm. The cross country teams also did a thing this weekend. Greyhound boys finished as the UIL State Tournament’s runner-up team for 5A… very awesome. Charlie Houck from Boerne Champion finished 4th individually, and Elizabeth Leachman, minded who never finished her regional meet due to an illness, won 2 gold medals at the meet, taking her career total up to 5! Wow! She won the 1600, and 3200 meter races on the podium, and spoke with The Boerne Star’s Kerry Barboza afterwards…

I won’t go into too much depth, but the Cowboys are now 3-5 after losing to Atlanta yesterday. Aside from half the team being injured, both Dak Prescott and CD Lamb will be undergoing MRIs after being taken out of the game with injuries of their own.
