Headlines: Champion sweeps Cedar Park, faces MacArthur next round / Champion scores 19 points in state track meet

This is Boerne Radio Sports…

Let’s start with what’s next for the Champion Chargers… if you haven’t heard, they defeated Cedar Park Saturday 18-5 for the series sweep and most importantly, another round in the playoffs. You would’ve thought the game was a runaway game but Cedar Park kept coming to the plate with a chip on their shoulder and getting runs here and there. The game went 7 innings and Champion poured on near the end resulting in the score. Now, the Chargers get a familiar opponent- MacArthur this weekend for the Area Championship. While the times, locations, and games get figured out today, we will confirm you can hear those games coming up this weekend on Boerne Radio. 

And while the baseball team was in Cedar Park, Champion track and field was down the street in Austin at the 5A State Track Meet. The three Chargers that qualified for the state meet earned points - Caleb DeHart earned 4th in the 800m race, Charlie Houck earned 6th in the 1600m and also earned silver in the 3200m, and Jamarri Bowie earned bronze in the 400m. Champion overall accumulated 19 points.
