Headlines: Champion wins game 1 vs Cedar Park

As heard here on Boerne Radio, the Champion Chargers had game 1 of their best of 3 series against Cedar Park and they were hosting. Top of the 3rd inning is where we will start, the game saw its first delay because of storms moving from Eagle Pass- that’ll do it. The game was delayed until around 8 when we resumed play and it was 2-0 champion. Four straight singles and a triple by Cedar Park got 4 runs back… talk about a crooked inning. It was 4-2. By the top of the fifth, Champion was leading 12-4… but the weather didn’t budge… another delay and we wait about 20 minutes until we could resume again. They resumed the game and Champion got 2 more runs… and they called it a night at 5 innings and close to 11pm… after two stoppages and then some, Champion wins game 1, by a final of 14-4. 

Heading into game 2 today, champion has the 1-0 advantage and this game will be in Cedar Park. Coverage starts at 5:30 here on Boerne Radio with the first pitch scheduled for 6. You can listen here on 103.9FM, BoerneRadio.com, and our app.
