Well Monday was the start of strength and conditioning as well as camps for the female athletes of Boerne ISD- specifically over at Boerne High… I’ll continue to say it… teams are looking to get stronger and it’ll be exciting to see their progress this upcoming year.

Two more names have been added to the ongoing list of Geneva baseball and softball players with all-district awards following the seasons… and if you head to BoerneRadio.com and find out sports blog, you’ll see who they are! Head there, right now… one baseball player and one softball. 

• Kate Friesenhahn, (softball) wins 1st-Team All-District, Academic All-State, and 2nd-Team All-State

• Jake Roberson, (baseball) 1st-Team All-District, Academic All-State, 1st-Team All-State

Onto college baseball and softball… UTSA will officially play #15-seeded UCLA sometime this weekend… logistics are still being worked out with games still being played last night. UCLA was the winner of the Los Angeles regional. And while this is light years away, the winner of this series would face the winner of Duke and Murray St who knocked out Ole Miss last night. *At the time this was written, the other teams that have punched their tickets are Arkansas, Tennessee, West Virginia, Coastal Carolina, Auburn, North Carolina-Chapel Hill, Arizona, Oregon St, Florida St, and Louisville.*

In softball, the final 4 teams squared off… Texas has been on top and dominating as the #6-seed. They shut out Tennessee 2-0 to go to the championship series… and #2-seeded Oklahoma’s rein comes to an end after a 3-2 upset by #12-seeded Texas Tech! So the championship series starting tomorrow in Oklahoma City is the Longhorns and the Red Raiders… it’s a best-of-3 series, with games going until Friday. 

Rangers and Astros got Monday off…it’s back to work tonight… Texas will be in Tampa through Thursday and Houston will be in Pittsburgh also through Thursday.
