Headlines: 4 Boerne ISD baseball players named All-Stars / Spurs are a dark horse in draft two weeks away / Astros host White Sox, Rangers in Minnesota

This is Boerne Radio Sports…
Boerne ISD and their baseball teams got some recognition as 4 total players - 2 from Champion and 2 from Boerne High were named All-Stars by the THSBCA. From the Greyhounds, fittingly, Brooks Perez is All-State elite and Dylan Perez is First Team Outfield. For the Chargers, Jaedyn Yamaguchi was 1st Team Designated Hitter, and Aidan Smith is a 2nd Team First Baseman.
Alright let’s shift gears and talk about the Spurs for a second… “But Esteban, they’re not in the Finals right now!” Exactly! ESPN posted an article listing teams in the league to watch out for as we approach free agency and the draft. The Spurs are on the list with more future draft picks than dollars at this point. With the NBA having introduced the “apron” system this past year, San Antonio is way under any of the higher aprons meaning if there was a time to go after veterans with free agency, now would be the time to do so. The NBA Draft will begin June 25.
In MLB: the Rangers are in Minnesota tonight for a 6:40 game 1 of the series against the Twins. The Astros will be home hosting the White Sox. That game gets underway at 7:10.
