Brady Chandler sets Geneva record… in the summer! / Brooks Perez decommits from Houston / Trinity joins the SAA Conference

This is Boerne, Texas… “Gateway to the Hill Country” and I would say home to one of the best school districts in the state. And the city doesn’t seem to sleep or at least take days off including the athletes from those schools. Brady Chandler from Geneva isn’t taking those summer days off in fact he just set a record and won gold at the South Texas Region 19 Track and Field championship for pole vault. He cleared 15ft 1.1in to also set the Geneva record. 

This is breaking news from late last night- Brooks Perez, who had committed to and was set to play baseball at the University of Houston next year has decommitted. Citing from an X post, he says he is looking for the best fit for him athletically and academically. 

Trinity University Athletics has joined a new conference- they are now a member of the Southern Athletic Association. They previously competed in the conference as an affiliate in football since 2017 but are now full time members. The transition took effect July 1.
