The San Antonio Gunslingers in their inaugural season in the IFL, with head coach Tom Menas, and a ton of talented all-stars, finished the season Saturday with a loss to Arizona, 41-34 from the Freeman Coliseum. This wraps up 2024 for the Gunslingers, but you best believe they’ll be back next year! 

And something else pretty cool- the newest local celebrity in San Antonio is a man named Danny, who won $1,000 kicking a 10-yard field goal in the Kick for Cash promotion at the game! It was pretty cool- he got a picture with Don Rackler, held up a cool sign, and more importantly, walked out with 1,000 smack-a-roonies he didn’t have entering the arena. He should press his luck and buy some Powerball tickets.

If you are a fan of the Rangers, Dodgers, or even Missions, you’ll recall the name Adrian Beltre- he got inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown on Sunday. His number was retired by Texas in 2019, and was a 5-time Gold Glove winner, Silver Slugger as a member of the Dodgers, and a Texas League Postseason All Star in 1998 as a member of the Missions. 

Aside from the festivities in New York, there was still baseball to be played. Texas takes a 3-2 win over Baltimore and Houston falls to Seattle, 6-4. Missions get swept in Arkansas losing 4-3 in Sunday’s series finale.
