It’s Friday so get fired up for Fired Up Friday of course at 5 today. And be sure you buckle down your seatbelts… it’s a rematch between Boerne and Alamo Heights- bigger stakes this time around. A regional title and state semifinal berth on the line. Both teams are 12-1 with Boerne granting Alamo Heights their only loss this year. The Greyhounds will need to do it a second time to advance in the playoffs. Pregame begins at 6:30 tonight.

Speaking of the Hounds- Grant Sweeney was put in a fan vote for 5A Quarterback of the year by TX HS Football. With the vote, he ended up getting second place with about 29% of the vote, and lost to the QB of El Dorado… who got eliminated from the playoffs a couple of weeks ago. Sweeney has nothing to prove now with the stats he’s been recording in this historic season. 

The Dallas Cowboys had a big game in Detroit against the Lions. The math is simple- win out the last remaining games of the season, and playoff hopes increase drastically. The keyword is “win.” The boys did everything but that, and the defense couldn’t deliver and the offense struggled as well. The final was 44-30. Dallas now falls to 6-6-1 on the year.
