Headlines: football practices officially underway! / Texas and Houston collect wins, both in fight for playoff spot

Yesterday, the biggest day of the month arguably began- the first practice of football season! Boerne High, Champion, Geneva, and Comfort all opened practices with varsity teams starting in the morning, down to freshman teams in the afternoon. Yeah, now we’re cooking with Crisco- and just over 3 weeks away, by the way, from the opening week of the season. 

Rangers and Astros get big wins on Monday, both having scored 8 runs. Houston beat Miami on the road 8-2 and Texas took on the Yankees at home, and won on a walkoff in extra innings 8-5. Houston is now 63-50, still division leaders… Texas is 59-55, still 4.5 games back of them, with a 1.5 game difference in the wild card picture.
