It’s Wednesday September 30th.

And a couple of contests happening at BoerneRadio.com.  Our Boerne Radio Fall Staycation contest is there where you could win a luxurious getaway for two at The St. Anthony Hotel, a historic landmark in the heart of downtown San Antonio. The grand prize includes a one-night stay in a King Park View Room, complimentary parking, drinks at The St. Anthony Club and an unforgettable dinner for two at Esencia, featuring cuisine by Executive Chef Leo Davila. Plus we’re throwing in a family 4 pack of tickets to Natural Bridge Caverns…that contest is sponsored by Cruise Planners with Royce Staley.  Register now at boerneradio.com.    And you can win 4 VIP Tickets and table plus a bottle of Freedom from Singing Water Vineyards for this Saturday night’s show with Dreams - a Fleetwood Mac Tribute.  We’re keeping an eye on that with the coming weather.

The Rod Run has been cancelled this weekend.  The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch for Kendall County beginning at 7 o’clock tonight and continuing through 7 o’clock Friday evening.  Forecasters expect widespread rainfall totals of 2 to 4 inches, with isolated locations possibly receiving as much as 8 inches.  The heaviest rain is expected Thursday into Friday, and rainfall rates could exceed two inches an hour.  That means flash flooding will be possible along creeks, low-water crossings and other flood-prone areas.

As you’ll recall, the Kendall County Commissioners Court voted to remove it’s automated flock cameras after being met with safety concerns. Within the city, use of the cameras is still prevalent, with residents and local leaders divided on the use of the technology. As it stands, the Police Department captures still images of vehicles, license plates, time, date and camera location, and a new transparency directive requires quarterly and annual audits of officers' use of the technology.  The City has not yet voted to change or expand the use of its Flock technology.

October 5th is the last Day to Register to Vote!  The Kendall County League of Women Voters will have voter registrars available all day on Monday, October 5 to get Kendall County  residents to register.  Drive-up registration will be available from 7:00 am - 6:00 pm at the parking lot of the Kendall County Elections Office at 221 Fawn Valley Drive across from Boerne High School.

Early voting starts October 19th, Election Day is November 3rd.

Tomorrow is the first day of October, where in Boerne you can celebrate Oktoberfest that never gets cancelled due to weather.  Throughout the month, the Richter tavern will be featuring German flavors of beer. Coming up this Saturday, our friends at the Tusculum brewing company will hold a celebration with a special German-inspired menu featuring bratwurst and pretzels. Other Main Street neighbors will also be active with promotions including Cibolo Creek Brewing Company and The Free Roam .
