It’s Wednesday, September 3rd.

And its national United States Bowling League Day - A game that used to be an outdoor sport called 9 pin, until Connecticut banned the game of 9 Pin to curb gamblers in 1841.  So, the gamblers added a pin and moved the game indoors to circumvent the law.  According to the documentary I saw, bowling is thought to have been played in prehistoric times.  (Flintstone FX)

The Boerne Police Department is currently investigating a fatal crash that occurred on Sunday just after 2am in the 300 block of Herff Road, which is just north of the Cibolo Center for Conservation. This was a single-vehicle crash, where the driver veered into the median and hit a tree.  Although police enacted life-saving efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene by Justice of the Peace Michelle Van Stavern.

She was your 2025 Boerne ISD Teacher of the Year, so says Toyota of Boerne with a $10,000 check last March….Ms. Denise Bakkar 2nd Grade Teacher at Fair Oaks Ranch Elementary, was given another honor this week from KENS 5 and Credit Human just honored her with the EXCEL award. The City of Boerne - breaking ground this morning on Northside Community Park on Adler Road.   The nearly 40-acre, $16.5 million project will feature an all-abilities playscape, multi-use sports fields with lights, a dog park, pickleball courts, a splashpad, and other amenities. The park will serve as a gathering place for the more than 700,000 people who visit Boerne’s green spaces each year.

The South Texas Blood and Tissue Bank is in dire need of Type O blood after labor day weekend. The holiday took a serious toll on supplies, so all blood types are needed. However, Type O negative is the most important because it is the universal donor and can be given to anyone in an emergency, and Type O Positive can be given to most positive blood types. If you can give, visit southtexasblood.org/give
