It’s Wednesday November 12th
And born on this date in 1945...old man…take a look at my life…with a heart of gold Neil Young turns 80 today…and right here in Boerne happy birthday at Tim Ekno, Martin Bomba of Window World, and a very happy birthday to guy who’s not listening to Boerne Radio right now because he’s up in Kerrville running his own radio station called the Buck with JAM Broadcasting - happy birthday Justin McClure.
The Hill Country Pregnancy Center has welcomed 19 babies into the Hill Country since September and is expecting more by the end of the year. As of now, their boutique shelves are pretty bare, and need replenishing in the smallest and biggest sizes…newborn clothing for boys and girls, plus clothes up until they are 6 months. All sizes of girl’s shoes are needed as well, but any donation is appreciated. Their Boerne location is on Fabra Street off North Main, and off I-10 in Leon Springs.
This story bears repeating…if you or someone you know is on the SNAP program and the benefits have run out, bring that card with your immediate family for a meal at the Richter Tavern, Cork and Keg, or the Richter Bakhaus home of the giant cinnamon roll. No reservation needed, and the only fine print is no alcohol of course, and you must dine in. The Richter Tavern and Cork and Keg is open today and tomorrow from 11 to 8 , 11 to 9 on Friday and Saturday. 11-4 on Sunday and Monday. Thank you, Guy and Joi Sanders, from the Richter Tavern.
So Rush and ACDC are coming to San Antonio in an arena or stadium near you, and in a more intimate setting, Joe Jackson will be playing the Empire Theatre in June of next year supporting his new album Hope and Fury. Also, Parker McCollum will be at the Frost Bank Center in January 31st, and the Rodeo returns in February with big names like Hank Williams Jr., Brad Paisley, Miranda Lambert, and Robert Earl Keen.
